We are currently recruiting for a new role within our team as Costs Negotiator. With continued growth across our successful Group, this role is introduced to increase technical knowledge and experience within the Finance and Costs Team. This is an exciting opportunity, reporting to the Group Financial Controller the Costs Costs Negotiator will be responsible for the UK and Australian caseload and is expected to assist in shaping and developing the costing process for all parts of our Group. Some key responsibilities include:
– Handling of caseload of both fixed and standard costs from bill drafting including new electronic Precedent S, issuing part 8 proceedings, drafting replies to Points of Dispute and preparation of cases for Detailed Assessment
– Drafting Costs Budgets and Budget Discussion Reports (Precedent H, Precedent R)
– Drafting N260s
– Negotiation of costs to settlement
– Considering progression of caseload within the team to identify problematic cases, setting out case progression plans for the relevant team member monitoring adherence
– Commencing enforcement where necessary
– Ensuring accuracy of costs schedules to maximise recovery
– Develop the knowledge and skills of the Costs Team members
The successful candidate must have:
– Good up to date knowledge of CPR procedures and current case law with regards to both fixed and standard costs
– Some debt recovery / enforcement experience
– Knowledge of the Solicitors Act S.70 dispute process
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Cashier within our Finance Team.
This role will be responsible for assisting with supporting the Senior Legal Cashier and the Finance Department in the provision of accurate and timely processing of financial transactions related to Group transactions, by providing competent and effective cashiering duties.
To undertake daily banking functions including bank reconciliations.
The processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings and cheque production.
The processing of client bills to include checking and posting
Input and production of nominal cheque requests.
Processing automatic and manual payment runs by BACS/TT and cheque.
The processing of bank transfers.
Processing of travel and other business expenses.
Process of Business Credit Cards.
Manage large Supplier statements and reconcile to Purchase Ledger.
Compiling letter and statements, diary management, assisting clients, receiving and making telephone calls
Undertake appropriate training and development in relation to the role, in particular taking part in workshops relating to SAR’s and internal systems
Undertake duties of a reasonable nature which may be requested from time to time.
What skills and experience would you need
Previous experience working as a legal cashier with knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules.
Preferably hold Proclaim experience
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and pay close attention to detail.
Competency to work on your own and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and develop your skills.
